McColley Hall has become a valuable and versatile resource for our neighbors in the Key Peninsula community since its opening in 2001. In addition to hosting a variety of functions, the hall has also opened its doors to a popular, free community meal program, sponsored by Key Peninsula Lutheran Church congregation and a generous grant.
We have recently been able, through another grant, to make McColley Hall capable of being a shelter in times of crisis. The building has its own electric power, and of course provides a professionally equipped kitchen where meals can be prepared during such emergency times. It is one of the ways we want to "keep the light on" here at Key Peninsula, whatever storms may come, personal storms, wind storms, storms of troubles or hunger or fearing that no one cares at all anymore. We try as best as we can to be a "Beacon on the Key" for all who face such storms.
